Nita Serrano Appointed to the Thirteenth Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Circuit Committee

Juanita SerranoThe Supreme Court of Florida recently approved the appointment of Juanita Serrano to the 13th Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee “A”. The Unlicensed Practice of Law Circuit Committees (UPL), are involved with complaints alleging that an individual is practicing law without a license and are investigated by one of 31 local circuit committees composed of lawyers and nonlawyers.

Kathryn Adams Presents to Graduate Nursing Students at Jacksonville University

Kathryn A. AdamsOn Tuesday, April 5, 2022, Kathryn A. Adams, an associate at the Jacksonville office of La Cava Jacobson and Goodis, P.A. gave a presentation at Jacksonville University to the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners Students in their Role Transition Course.  The presentation, titled “Medical Malpractice for Nurse Practitioners”, introduced the graduate students to Florida’s litigious climate and focused on things they could do each day to prevent or prepare for any unwanted litigation.  Topics covered included staying within the Nurse Practitioner’s Practice Act and ensuring they follow and understand the ARNP Protocol established by their supervising physician.  Ms. Adams was honored to speak to these future ARNPs at Jacksonville University and looks forward to returning again.
