Lou La Cava has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Florida Medical Clinic Foundation of Caring. The Foundation exists to provide programs and services that are a benefit to others and might not be otherwise provided by local, state or federal entities. Since 2005 Florida Medical Clinic Foundation of Caring has provided more than a million dollars and hundreds of thousands of hours of volunteer support to over 40 local non-profits serving children and families in need in Pasco and Hillsborough County. Lou La Cava and Barbara Chapman obtained a defense verdict for neurologist

Lou La Cava and Barbara Chapman obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case tried in Pinellas County. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant neurologist negligently diagnosed the plaintiff with a stroke when she actually was suffering from a spinal epidural abscess. The plaintiff argued that had the diagnosis been made sooner the plaintiff would not have suffered severe neurological deficits which have confined her to a wheel chair since 2008. After a 6 day trial the jury returned a verdict finding the Defendant physician not negligent.
