Karen L. Mallin

Karen Levine Mallin was born at the Ft. Bragg Army Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, cum laude, from Pine Manor College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University School of Law in Boston in 2000. While in law school, Ms. Mallin was a member of the Suffolk University Law Review from 1998 through 1999, and she served as the Lead Articles Editor for the publication from 1999 through 2000.

Ms. Mallin was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2000. Immediately after law school, she served as a Law Clerk to the Justices of Massachusetts Superior Court from 2000 through 2001. Thereafter, she practiced medical malpractice defense in Boston for two years before returning home to Florida. She was admitted to the Florida bar in 2003. She began working with Stephens, Lynn, Klein, La Cava & Puya in 2003 before taking an eighteen month sabbatical to serve as a Law Clerk to the Honorable James D. Whittemore, United States District Court, Middle District of Florida from 2005 through 2006. After her clerkship, she returned to the firm and to her insurance defense practice. Ms. Mallin is principally involved in the defense of medical malpractice and employment cases. She also represents physicians in administrative actions initiated by the Florida Department of Health. She is a lecturer at risk management seminars for physician groups and practices on issues related to medical malpractice laws in the State of Florida. She is a member of the America Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, and Hillsborough County Bar Association.
